WaxCast was designed with casting in mind, and meticulously tested by jewelers, dental labs and engineers across the world. Through the testing process, we perfected the features most sought after in a casting resin:
- Less than 0.1% residual ash after burnout
- Non-reactive with common investments such as Plasticast™
- Optimized for 25µm - 50µm layers, but can be adjusted by exposure
- Low degradation of PDMS vat coatings
- Quick layer times
- Low odor for use in commercial settings
- Resistant to most solvents, including alcohol and acetone
- No pigments to settle out
Additionally, we’ve brought some new features to WaxCast not previously seen in affordable casting resins:
- Made with the Highest quality Natural Wax - incorporating natural wax allows you to use normal working wax by attaching to sprues for easy 3D print modification and provides a number of excellent casting characteristics.
- UV Reactive Coloring - it is difficult to know if you post-cured a print properly. With WaxCast, the print changes color from a darker red to a light orange when fully cured.

Some customers (usually ANYCUBIC or Wanhao) have had issues with adhesion to the build platform. If you are having that issue, please see these instructions.

Buffer Layers: 5Sometimes WaxCast will not properly adhere to certain build platforms. In order to fix this problem, one or both of the following suggestions should be tried:
- Roughen up the build platform with coarse sandpaper (80 grit)
- Smear a thin layer of non-WaxCast resin onto the build platform and either expose it to the sun or place it in a UV curing box for a few minutes. Then print on that surface.
Since WaxCast is a casting resin, it tends to be somewhat structurally weak. If you find your base and supports are printing fine but the model isn't sticking to the supports, increase your support structure and the contact point size from the support structure to your model.
Sometimes just increasing the exposure time of the base will rectify the problem. You can start with 20-50% of a time increase and see if that helps, but generally one or more of these steps will allow those printers to work properly.
- Cures under UV A, B, and C light up to 420nm. Can be cured with a DLP projector, a UV laser, or UV LEDs. Low odor and contains zero VOC.
